The Battle of Armagaeddon

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces. . .And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn” (Zechariah 12:2–3, 10).

Those engaged in the Battle of Armageddon are the united ten nations of the Antichrist, a force identified as the Kings of the East. This massive army will be demonically inspired to attack Israel.

“For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. . . And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon” (Revelation 16:14, 16).

We learn in Revelation 9:15, 16 that the size of the army is 200 million troops. But who is this mysterious army and what nation on earth could field a fighting force this large?

At this point, China is the only nation with the capability of boasting an army of some 200 million. Keep in mind, when the apostle John wrote the book of Revelation there were not yet 200 million people on the whole earth!
