The Relevance of God’s Law

Some, falsely interpreting the biblical teaching about the law, would say that the Ten Commandments have absolutely no relevance or application to the lives of believers today. Yet, look at the words of Jesus:

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till Heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:17–18).

Jesus did not come to abolish or do away with the law; He came to fulfill it. The word fulfill literally means “to carry it out; to make full; to get to the heart of it.”
