Why You Should Invite Someone to Watch the Harvest Crusade
We’re just a couple of days away from this year’s Harvest Crusade on July 11. It’s going to be a great night, with music from Phil Wickham, Michael W. Smith, Kari Jobe Carnes, Cody Carnes, and TAYA. And I’ll be sharing a message on how people can come into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Tickets were fully reserved within hours of being released. So here’s my challenge to you…
If you have a ticket, bring someone who doesn’t yet know Jesus. And if you weren’t able to get a ticket, invite someone to watch it online with you.
Because at the end of the day, what matters is how many people hear the gospel, no matter their seat.
The Gospel Never Loses Its Power
Over the years, we’ve held Harvest Crusades not only in Southern California, but across the United States and overseas in Australia and New Zealand. And no matter where we’ve gone, one thing has remained true: the gospel never goes out of style.
It’s never outdated. It’s never irrelevant. It’s always the message people need to hear.
And it brings the answers to the deepest questions every person asks at some point in life:
- Why am I here?
- What is the purpose of my life?
- What happens after I die?
When we believe in the gospel, we can know with certainty that we’ll go to Heaven when we die. That is such a powerful message, and I want to get that out to as many people as I possibly can.
People Respond Wherever They Hear It
One thing we’ve learned through the years is that people respond to the gospel, whether they’re sitting in the stadium, watching at a host site, or viewing on a phone or computer screen.
We’ve seen it happen again and again.
I remember hearing from a woman who was watching the Harvest Crusade with her husband on their laptop. She stepped out of the room for a few minutes, and when she came back, she found him kneeling in front of the screen, praying to accept Christ.
That’s the power of the gospel.
When it goes out, people stop thinking about the medium through which they’re receiving it. They’re captured by the message itself—a timeless, life-changing message from Heaven.
That’s why I have confidence every time I preach. The power isn’t in me. The power is in the gospel.
We Need Christians to Get the Message Out
Everything about the Harvest Crusade is centered on the proclamation of the gospel.
From the start, I’m preaching for a decision; I’m making a beeline toward that moment when I’m going to call people to Christ.
And I can’t emphasize enough how important it is that you bring people to these events—whether in person at Angel Stadium, your house, or by sharing a link.
Just get the message out. Because you’re the tool God can use to reach someone who does not yet know the Lord. And all you have to do is get them there, one way or another, and I’ll do the “heavy lifting”; I will present the gospel.
As I’ve stated many times, over 80% of those that walk forward when the invitation is extended to accept Christ were brought by a friend.

Long before America became a nation, a young evangelist named George Whitefield stood in open fields and town squares proclaiming a bold message: You must be born again. His preaching helped spark the First Great Awakening and shaped the spiritual foundation of a generation.
The powerful new film A Great Awakening brings this remarkable true story to life with compelling performances, rich historical detail, and a timely reminder of what God can do when people respond to the gospel.
