Romans 8 is one of the greatest chapters in all of the Bible because it is stuffed with spiritual truths and principles. There are many things that God has done for us that are revealed in this amazing chapter, great freedoms that God has given to us, and remarkable truths that we should keep in mind.
Practical Principles
- In Christ, there’s freedom from judgment. You don’t need to pay penance. You don’t need to atone for your sin. Your sin has already been atoned for at the cross of Calvary. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
- There’s freedom from defeat. There’s no obligation to serve sin as your master. We’re no longer on Satan’s choke chain.
- We have access to God. We can approach God as children to a loving Father because of our relationship with Him.
- We’re not alone in our suffering. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness and makes intercession for us.
- We have a hopeful future. I can tell you in complete confidence that whatever you’re facing right now, the best is still yet to come.
Relevant Reminders
- Lose your religion and replace it with a relationship with God.
- The faith that cannot be tested is a faith that cannot be trusted.
- The devil hates what God loves, and you are truly loved by God.
Applicable Actions
There is pleasure that can come as a result of pain, such as in childbirth. God will allow us to go through times of pain to bring forth something far greater. So remember that you are loved by God and that He knows everything you are going through, and when you come through it you will be stronger and more like His Son Jesus.
