Besides being the first day of December, today is special because it’s Giving Tuesday. It’s a day that is celebrated worldwide as a day of generosity—a day to advance the causes and charities that make a difference in the world.
The majority of these organizations are doing really great things to improve lives, and I applaud any effort to relieve suffering, educate people, advance technology, or help the needy. That’s what makes Giving Tuesday such a great event.
But as Christians, you and I both know that there is one cause that trumps all others—because it has eternal ramifications and was commissioned by Jesus Himself.
I’m talking, of course, about the Great Commission, which Jesus gave us when He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations . . .” (Matthew 28:19).
That’s the cause that will do the most good in the long run. So much of what the world is trying to fix stems from the wickedness of the heart. But when Jesus comes in and fixes the heart, behaviors and actions will soon follow suit.
So, as you consider which organizations you want to support today, I would humbly recommend Harvest Ministries, and here are three reasons why:
- Harvest consistently and intentionally “casts the net” at every opportunity we get, inviting people to start a relationship with Jesus Christ. And in 2020, we’ve seen 140,000 people make a profession of faith!
- Harvest is not only about making new believers, but about discipling them with solid biblical teaching and encouragement.
- The impact of Harvest’s ministry work will last for millennia to come. Our mission is to make a difference not just here and now, but for eternity.
If you believe in what Harvest Ministries is doing to advance the kingdom of God, I invite you to donate, and let’s make this Giving Tuesday a day to celebrate all the lives changed by the power of the gospel.
Give now to support evangelism in your world through Harvest Ministries.
