We had a very fruitful trip to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. And they showed us a lot of love, too!
We started the day with an outstanding gathering of almost 400 pastors from the greater Philadelphia area. I spoke to them about essentials of the gospel presentation in a message called “The First Message of the Church.” They were very receptive and I had a chance to meet a lot of them afterward. One pastor told me he came to Christ at a meeting I did in Philly 25 years ago! What a joy to see “fruit that remains.”
That evening, we were at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia. It was packed out and we had a really strong response to the invitation for people to come to Christ. God has really blessed this church and they have spun off more than 20Â sister churches in the area over the last 10 years. It is pastored by a good friend and great communicator of God’s Word, Joe Focht. I am really looking forward to our Crusade in Philadelphia later this year.
And yes, I did get my cheesesteak! It was at place called Geno’s, and it was GOOD! I also had great Italian food, including one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. As far as I am concerned, the East Coast OWNS Italian food, but the West Coast OWNS Mexican food! My two favorites!
