Protected by His Power

by Greg Laurie on Mar 12, 2022
Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.

If you were to go to Disneyland with your children or grandchildren, you wouldn’t lose them, would you? Of course not. You wouldn’t be in line for a ride and suddenly think, “Wait, did I have some kids with me?” That’s because you love them, and you’re constantly aware of where they are.

Or let’s say that you have a pair of rather expensive sunglasses. You don’t want to lose them, so you always make sure you know where they are.

You don’t forget someone or something that you care about.

In the same way, God cares about you and is continually keeping you. The Bible, speaking of Jesus, says that He “is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf” (Hebrews 7:25 NLT).

If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, then you are God’s property. You belong to the Lord. The Bible says, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20 NLT).

Other passages in the Bible also remind us of the keeping and protective power of God. Second Thessalonians 3:3 says, “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one” (NKJV). And 1 Peter 1:5 reminds us, “God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see” (NLT).

God’s power preserves you. It protects you. In fact, God not only keeps you, but He keeps you continually. He will watch over you.
