Several years ago, 52-year-old Rob lost his wife and started drinking heavily. Today, he is a recovering alcoholic and described his addiction as “an evil, wicked road that led me out of control.” It was four years ago that Rob found himself at the SoCal Harvest and gave his life to Jesus. With the help of “U-Turn for Christ” in Big Bear, California, he was able to find the help he needed to gain structure and accountability in his life.
Syndie suffered from a broken marriage and family. Her ex-husband was addicted to drugs and alcohol, and her 25-year-old son is currently struggling with drugs. Although she’s been a Christian for a long time, she knew she was not where she needed to be. So, three years ago she decided to get right with God. Tonight at the SoCal Harvest, she brought her son hoping he would be encouraged and strengthened in the Lord.
Rob and Syndie have been together for three years, and Syndie admits, “You cannot get sober on your own. If you don’t have God, you will struggle.” Today they are living a sober life, serving in their church, helping others, and living for the Lord. They are here tonight to be encouraged, rejuvenated, and recharged to keep that spark ignited in their hearts for Jesus.
