The Ultimate E-Ticket Ride

by Greg Laurie on Aug 15, 2015
"Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.'"

I remember when I was a child and we would drive by Disneyland on the freeway. I would look up at the Matterhorn jutting out above the park, and I remember making a vow: "When I become an adult, I will go to Disneyland every single day!"

Needless to say, I did not keep that vow, but the reason I made it was because Disneyland represented "the promised land" to me as a child.

When Walt Disney’s park opened in 1955, the price of admission was only one dollar! Can you imagine? However, you had to pay for each attraction separately, and after being accused of nickel-and-diming people to death, Disney came up with the ticket book.

For years we all used those tickets, especially prizing the "E Ticket" as it gave you access to the best rides in the park at that time: the monorail, the submarine ride, and the Matterhorn. For a child, the best part of Disneyland is going in the park. For the adult, the best part is going out!

One day, God will bring His magnificent kingdom to this earth. A shining city will descend from glory, called the New Jerusalem. This heavenly city will be a part of the new earth that God will make. And those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ can go in and out of it. There will be no admission fees because the price has already been paid. . .by Jesus Christ Himself.

It will be the ultimate "E-Ticket" ride.
