In this webcast, Pastor Greg Laurie shares a message from Mark 15 titled “What the Death of Jesus Means to You” in our Sunday Morning series at Harvest Christian Fellowship.
Sermon Notes
Did you know that Jesus was betrayed by His friend Judas Iscariot? but His greatest pain was still to come. The purpose of Mark’s Gospel was to encourage the church, to be the light in the world, we need to go out into the world and preach the gospel. Not through politics, but through prayer and preaching, we will turn our world upside down in the same way.
Application
God has suffered, and more deeply than any of us could ever imagine. Why did God suffer? Jesus has been there and walked in your shoes and He is here for you right now. Jesus took the curse, so we don’t have to. No man has ever experienced loneliness and isolation as Jesus did at this point. At the cross, even God the Father turned away His face from God the Son. Jesus was forsaken so we don’t have to be. Jesus was forsaken of God that we might be forgiven.
- Because He loved
- Because He loves.
- God cares.
- God understands.
