In this webcast, Pastor Greg Laurie shares a message from Luke 2 titled “Waiting for Christmas” at the Christmas Eve Service at Harvest Christian Fellowship.

Sermon Notes

Are you Waiting for Christmas? Sometimes, something is not worth the wait; other times, it really is! The problem with Christmas is, it cannot deliver on its promises. Christmas is a promise of someone greater. What we are really longing for this time of year is not Christmas, but Christ. Not goodwill, but God; not presents, but His presence.

Maybe you have not heard from God for a while. Unconfessed sin can be a reason for that. God has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. He has promised to hear our prayers! Jesus was born so you could be born again. In His first coming, He was surrounded by animals and shepherds. In His second coming, He will be accompanied by saints and angels.

  • The promise of Christmas (Christ): Emmanuel, “God is with us.”
  • Mary was a godly girl living in a very ungodly place.
  • At the right moment, God sent His Son.

  • Luke 2:9–15
  • Galatians 4:4–5
  • Isaiah 59:1–2
  • Jeremiah 33:3
