The Passover: A New Beginning

by Greg Laurie on Nov 17, 2019

In this webcast, Pastor Greg Laurie shares a message from Exodus 12 and Matthew 26 titled “The Passover: A New Beginning” in our Sunday Morning series at Harvest Christian Fellowship.

Sermon Notes

The incarnation was so there would be the atonement. His death was not an afterthought on the part of God the Father, it was the Lord’s purpose and plan from the very beginning.  Christ paid the price for your sin and He has forgiven and justified you. If you want to walk with God, you must apply the blood! God promises to cleanse us from all sin, not just some. First, we have to call our sin what it is and stop trying to minimize it by renaming it. Justification means that God has both pardoned me and changed my status.

It’s powerful, it’s arresting, it’s controversial, it’s offensive, it’s the truth. The Passover matters not only to the Jewish people, it matters to us as Christians as well. The Passover Feast all pointed to Jesus.

  • The Passover was to be a new beginning.
  • The lamb was to be the very best.
  • The lamb had to be slain.
  • The blood had to be applied.
  • They were to be ready to move at a moment’s notice
