The Almost Christian

by Greg Laurie on May 1, 2022

In today’s episode, Pastor Greg Laurie shares a message titled “The Almost Christian” at our Sunday Morning Service for Harvest at Home.

Sermon Notes

Some may be well on their way to becoming a Christian and even act like true believers. But although they may pray, attend church, and get baptized, it’s still possible they’re not truly Christian—there’s more to it.

  • A person may pray, change their lifestyle, believe the Gospel, or keep the commandments and still not really be a Christian
  • Two steps must be taken to become a real Christian, not an “almost Christian”
    • You need to have your eyes opened
    • You need to turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to the power of God
  • There’s a difference between repentance and remorse
  • Repentance is being sorry enough to stop what you’re doing and change your behavior
  • God forgives us of our sins
  • God gives us an inheritance
  • Paul preached Christ crucified and risen
  • It’s not enough to just be exposed to the truth, we need to act on it
  • Only God can open the spiritual eyes of the listener
