If we follow the apostle Paul’s example, we can overcome discouragement by remembering the Lord’s authority in our lives and submitting every situation to Him.
Application
- We can follow in Paul’s footsteps when we face discouragement by being obedient, serving others, and sharing our hope
- God’s revealed will is found in scripture
- Suffering is part of God’s will for us
- The greatest thing we can do with our suffering is to use it for God’s glory
- Paul served people because Jesus laid that foundation
- Paul went from being a persecutor of the church to begin persecuted for the church
