In the message at Harvest Christian Fellowship entitled “One Chance” Pastor Jeff Lasseigne teaches on Christ’s Judgment from 2 Corinthians 5 and just who will be standing before and what they will be judged for. The life that we live today on earth is what we will be judged for when we stand before Jesus Christ.
Be sure to make it count!
The life you live today will determine the life you live in eternity (2 Corinthians 5) Jesus stood before Pilate at the bema seat, but Pilate will stand before at the Great White Throne for Christ’s Judgment!
- Who: Believers.
- What: Reviewing our lives.
- Why: Salvation
Salvation is based on what Christ has done for us; but rewards are based on what we do for Christ (1 Corinthians 3). Now just what will believers be judged on:
- How we treat others (Galatians 6:10)
- The stewardship of our money (Matthew 6)
- How we accept persecution (Matthew 5)
- Sharing our faith (Romans 10:17)
- How we resist sin (Matthew 26:41)
- How we obey Biblical submission.
Submission to God’s will
All acts of Biblical submission are submission to God’s will. The when of Christ’s judgment seat is after the rapture, and before the Second Coming. The where of Christ’s judgment is in Heaven. Once the church arrives in Heaven, it seems that the first order of business is for Jesus to review our Christian lives on earth. The why of Christ’s judgment seat is to reward and praise believers.
Don’t waste your life trying to please people, live to please God (Hebrews 11:6) BELIEF determines where you spend eternity; BEHAVIOR determines how you spend eternity.
