Sermon Notes

In #Trending: Depression & Suicide, Pastor Jarrid discusses how we are flawed people who are in need of a flawless Jesus; we are broken people in need of a perfect Savior. Did you know that no matter how much darkness we are in we need to seek Christ? No matter what mental health issues you may be dealing with, there is always hope! Jesus loves you and cares about you.

There are several reasons for why you may be experiencing depression or mental illness. The following three reasons are a few of the triggers that can cause mental illness to manifest in someone’s life.

  • Situational: Finances, trauma and many others
  • Substance abuse: Drugs, alcoholism, and others
  • Genetics: Family history, chemical imbalance

Medications and professional counseling may not be for everyone, but what is for everyone, is SEEKING HELP. People are allowed to share what they are going through, the church should be a safe place for all to admit that they are not ok. It’s so important to remember that Christ Jesus cares for you, and loves you more than anyone or anything in the world.

  • Matthew 11
  • Job 3
