In this webcast, Pastor Greg Laurie shares a message from 1 Peter 5 and Philippians 4 titled “God’s Answer to Fear, Worry, and Anxiety, Part 2” in our “Sunday Morning” series at Harvest Christian Fellowship.
A recent Pew Research poll indicates teens see depression and anxiety as their number one problem. Worry is advanced interest you pay on troubles that rarely come. We need to cast our worries on Jesus! The Bible says “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens.”
The word used for cast signifies a definite act of the will, by which we stop worrying about things and let God assume the responsibility for our welfare. The word for cares means, “He is mindful of you.” God is our Shepherd, and we are His sheep. God is our Father who loves and cares for us. God is our King. There are no accidents in the life of the Christian—only providence.
- You are not alone in your suffering.
- Give your burdens to God.
- Take your eyes off of yourself and put them on God.
- Do something for someone who has greater needs than you do.
- Rejoice in the Lord, no matter what you are going through.
