As Christians, we sometimes don’t realize all that God has done for us. We decide what kind of soil our heart will be. God has given us everything we need to grow spiritually. Alexander Maclaren once said, “He who has the Holy Spirit in his heart, and the Scripture in his hands, has all he needs.” We must remember “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
Success or failure in the Christian life is determined by how much of the Bible we get into our hearts and minds on a daily basis, and how obedient we are to the principles and teachings found within it. If you are healthy, spiritually, you will be hungry for the Bible. Martin Luther said “The Bible is alive; it speaks to me. It has feet; it runs after me.”
- If you want to be a growing Christian, you must read, study, and love God’s Word.
- You should read the Bible as if your life depends on it . . . because it does!
- The Word of God is perfect and completely trustworthy.
- The Word of God transforms us.
