Dealing with Discouragement: A Good Friday Message

by Greg Laurie on Apr 18, 2019

In this webcast, pastor and teacher Greg Laurie shares a message from Hebrew 12 in our “Thursday evening” series at Harvest Christian Fellowship titled, “Dealing with Discouragement”

Sermon Notes

“The feeling of being let down is one of life’s toughest emotional experiences.” Consider means, “Compare yourselves with.” Contrast what you are going through with what Jesus went through for you! You should keep running your race for Jesus, because Jesus ran His race for you! Our prize is receiving the crown He will give us when we stand before Him. What kept Jesus going? According to Hebrews 12, it was “the joy set before Him”. What was the joy set before Him?

It was you!

Application

You should keep running your race for Jesus, because Jesus ran His race for you! Our prize is receiving the crown He will give us when we stand before Him. Looking unto Jesus“Lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily besets you.”

  • You need to consider Jesus because He never stopped considering you.
  • You need to look to Jesus because He has always been looking out for you.
  • You need to live for Jesus because He died for you.
  • We need to remember Him.
  • You don’t need “a little religion.”
  • You need a lot of Jesus!
  • Disappointment is His appointment!
