Rock the World is the Sunday Morning Children's Church. We combine drama and worship with hand motions and dance and puppets to present biblical principles. When it comes to kids, the aim is to "entertain"; and the purpose is to lead kids to enter in to worship.

Kids need to be actively involved, comfortable, and know that they belong and have ownership. Rock the World is a combination of Nickelodeon meets Sesame Street and the Muppets meets Saturday Night Live. The children know that the skit will include asking for their help so they sit on the edge of their seat waiting for the questions to come.

Our goal is to engage the kids in decision making rather than to see them be just couch potatoes. Some of the topics covered include skits written for Back to the Beginning, covering all the main events and characters of the book of Genesis; Psalm 23 skits that are written for each verse of the psalm with a challenge for each child and teacher to memorize Psalm 23; God Is, a three month look at the character of God: God is holy, God is faithful, God is my Savior, God is forgiving. Our goal at Harvest Christian Fellowship is to Know God and Make Him Known. The kids are the future and we at Rock the World are privileged to teach and to lead them in worshipping Jesus. What an honor to be a part of God's work- growing up kids to know the truth about God so they can love and serve Him all the days of their life.

Rock the World has over 400 scripts available. For more information contact the Children's Ministry.

How can I get involved? Rock the World has many fun and challenging avenues in which you can serve. We utilize a script writing team, a praise team, a drama team, a technical team for sound, as well as a prop team for stage set-up. If God has given you the gift of being a "ham," we need you! Entire families have come to serve together in Rock the World. We especially appreciate the adult men who come to serve because many of our children come from a household that has no dad living at home. The kids need to see that grown men love Jesus and are happy to serve Him.

We provide classes and workshops to help you explore your talents and learn about other areas you can try. You'd be surprised how many of us are serving in a talent area we didn't even know we had (that's God)! The incredible blessing and reward for serving in Rock the World is seeing the excitement and joy on the children's faces as they experience the skit and learn from God's Word. What a blessing!

How does Rock the World work? First, choose a service in which to serve. Then arrive 20 minutes early and get settled with the puppet or the costume you will be wearing. You will review your script that you received the week before and check your blocking (entrances and exits) with the Worship Leader who will be acting as the "Ring Master"—the one who is in charge and welcomes the kids and directs their focus. Every 25 minutes, a different age group of children will be entering the room to be a part of the Rock the World church service. Rock the World performs the skit three times during one service. After the third service, return all props and costumes for the next service and receive the script for the next Sunday.

What are the Requirements to Serve? Harvest requires that any volunteer must have attended church at Harvest for at least six months. Also, the appropriate Ministry Questionnaire must be filled out with personal references filled out and returned to the Children's Ministry Office. All Adult volunteers in Children's Ministry must go through the Training Class and packet. The kids who are eleven through sixteen must go through the Ministry Youth Training Class. At sixteen, the volunteers fill out an Adult Ministry Questionnaire. All volunteers must be photographed and be on file in Harvest Children's Ministry Office. All adult volunteers age eighteen and up are required to be fingerprinted. Because children are so precious, security at Harvest is a high priority.

Also, because it's so important to be fed the Word of God, it is required that all volunteers go to at least one age-appropriate service during the week. For example, kids who are 11 and older must attend the Junior High service on Friday night, Wednesday night, or Sunday morning. Adults can attend on Wednesday night, Sunday night, or during one of the three Sunday morning services.
